All PYT-UA Microcampus students are eligible for scholarships, with PYT members and employees eligible for up to full-tuition scholarships, and non-PYT members and employees eligible for up to 50%. Non-PYT applicants must submit a brief statement (no more than 250 words) explaining their interest in the course, financial need, and how they meet the selection criteria to be considered for a scholarship. PYT members and employees are exempt from submitting this statement.

*Statement of Purpose:
Please provide a short statement (no more than 250 words) describing your interest in the course, financial need, and circumstances that meet the selection criteria.

The decision on the scholarship will be made based on the four key selection criteria (KSC), including their weighted values. Each applicant is given a score of 1-5 on each criteria, with 1 as the lowest score and 5 as the highest score. A final score is calculated by combining the weighed scores for each KSC, which are detailed below:

KSC1: Demonstrated financial need and/or personal circumstances (Weighting x3): Applicant can demonstrate a financial need or circumstances that have created barriers to accessing higher education.
KSC2: Unemployed or underemployed (Weighting x3): Applicant is unemployed or underemployed, and not employed by PYT. If an applicant is employed by PYT, they must submit a letter from their employer confirming there are no Professional Development funds available to support their tuition.
KSC3: Long term educational goals (Weighting x2): Applicant is seeking a scholarship to support long-term educational goals, ie. certification or professional development that will support pathways to higher education.
KSC4: Achievements (Weighting x2): Applicant has a strong record of community involvement, leadership experience, or other non-academic achievements that demonstrate the applicant’s potential to
benefit from and contribute to the course.
KSC5: Recommendations or references (Weighting x1): Not required, but recommendations and references will be taken into consideration if the referee's contact information is provided.
